HERO PROFILE

Background Story

"Curses! The gods will arrive any moment, and our weapons are barely at half-strength..." Despite his despair, the alchemist sealed the two weapons in a specialized metal container. A button press sent them deep into the earth, hidden by intricate layers of mechanisms, shielding them from divine scrutiny. Beyond the laboratory, the gods breached the final defenses. Amidst the cacophony of death and ruin, the alchemist's heart stilled. Left without any desire to resist, he calmly awaited his end. "Wretched gods... These weapons shall never be yours. Mark my words, your end is nigh. When they reach their full power, humanity will step over your decayed remains and forge a legacy of everlasting glory!" After two millennia, the metal container resurfaced in the hands of a grinning Hypogean named Eugene. "Well, well, what a surprise! These are the powerful weapons coveted by the gods?!" Within the container lay two swaddled infants, a boy and a girl. Beside the Hypogean stood the Celestial Gavus, an unforeseen travel companion. His mission was to reclaim these weapons, taken by the Hypogeans long ago, but the current scene puzzled him. "The gods may exploit these children. We can't allow them to become their pawns." Eugene's gaze held contempt. The allure of ultimate power seemed to make gods no different from Hypogeans. Unexpectedly, the girl started crying and flailed her arms angrily. Conversely, the boy merely babbled and offered smiles to the new onlookers. In truth, they appeared indistinguishable from human children. Three years seemed to pass in the blink of an eye. Deep in a remote forest, a brother and sister played merrily while two men watched them quietly from afar. Ultimately, Gavus and Eugene abandoned their factions, spiriting the children away into the forest, away from their warring kin. There, they became fathers to the youngsters, naming them Liberta and Lucilla. The children's natures were near-perfect opposites, akin to the two men who embraced them. Lucilla inherited Eugene's cunning mischief, while Liberta embodied Gavus' solemn discipline. This unlikely family resided peacefully in a secluded realm, untouched by the flames of warfare. However, their tranquility was short-lived. The Celestials and Hypogeans persisted in finding these living weapons and their renegades. Eventually, they located the family's haven, and this time... they prevailed. A decade later, a girl carried a colossal red axe, guiding a team of Hypogeans through long-forgotten ruins-an ancient alchemist's lab. Here, potent weapons were infused with divine energy. Lucilla aimed to harness that same power. On the ruins' opposite side, a faction of Celestials, sharing the goal, assembled. As the ruins reawakened, the two groups geared up for a reenactment of a historical battle over magical reserves. Years ago, the Hypogeans abducted Lucilla. Her memories were sealed, and she turned sinister under their sway, becoming into a powerful asset for their faction. As she surveyed the Celestial ranks, Lucilla sought their leader. She eventually spotted him-a young Celestial boy holding a mystical staff. The earth quaked as the ruins awakened, reigniting the battle for its power. Amidst the surge of the laboratory's energy, Lucilla bounded toward the Celestial command center, set on swiftly defeating her adversaries. Suddenly, a figure burst forth from the Celestial ranks, intercepting her aerial attack. They engaged in a fierce clash, and Lucilla was stunned to find herself evenly matched with her opponent. To make matters even more confusing, the young boy emitted an inexplicable familiarity she couldn't fathom. With each strike, the strange sensation intensified. Unable to endure it any longer, Lucilla marshaled her magical might, poised for her ultimate strike. In tandem, the yourig Celestial soared into the air, mirroring her stance. Like fiery meteors, they clashed in the sky. The collision shattered the seal imprisoning Lucilla's memories, and her first utterance was her brother's name, "Liberta! Finally reunited, the long-lost siblings recognized each other, shifting their attacks at the final second. The resulting blast hurled the ruins into chaos, providing their escape route. Unshackled from their factions, Lucilla and Liberta began their most vital quest: to recover the two missing pieces of their once-happy family. "Let's go, Liberta! We're gonna make them pay for what they did to us!”
